PAST TOUR NEWS:

• 1963 was the first tour for the Rolling Stones, starting on September 29 and concluding November 3.
  
  
• The band's first American tour commenced on June 6, 1964, and concluded two weeks later on June 20.
  
  
• The 1972 American Tour is commonly referred to as the S.T.P. Tour (for Stones Touring Party) and followed the release of Exile On Main St.
  
  
• The Tattoo You American Tour was the largest grossing tour of 1981 with $50 million in ticket sales. The concert film Let's Spend the Night Together was made from this tour.
  
  
• The Rolling Stones returned to touring after a seven year hiatus with the Steel Wheels Tour in 1989. The European leg of the tour ran from May to August 1990 and was called the Urban Jungle Tour.
  
  
• The Licks Tour was a true world-wide tour held in 2002-2003 and mixed theatre, arena and stadium venues.
  
  
• The most recent Rolling Stones tour was an ambitious event, taking place between August 2005 and August 2007, in support of the album A Bigger Bang. It became the highest grossing tour of all time, grossing over $550 million.
